EHEIM phosphateout is a special iron compound for chemical filtration. The iron binds the phosphate, removes it from the water cycle and thus successively reduces the phosphate content in the aquarium. This primarily inhibits the growth of algae. When the phosphate content and thus the algae growth increases again, the filter medium is exhausted and must be replaced. EHEIM phosphateout is available for external filters as granulate and for internal filters as a foam cartridge. It is free of pollutants and suitable for fresh and sea water.
