The material is pH-neutral and does not contain any hardening agents. EHEIM bioMECH is suitable for fresh and sea water, can be washed out and can be used several times. Mechanical-biological filter media Mechanical filter masses retain more or less coarse dirt particles. Biological filter media, on the other hand, ensure that bacteria cultures settle. The cleaning bacteria feed on dirt particles and convert them. This is the main reason why clear, healthy water in the aquarium and stable water values are achieved.
